If you’re in Ontario and are looking for a perfect lakefront summer wedding venue, keep on reading!
Lauren & Matthew were one of the first couples to book me as their wedding photographer when I first moved to Canada. They too are from the UK which gave us an instant bond. We both know what it’s like relocating to a different country and culture, to miss our families and friends, compounded by the dreaded pandemic we found ourselves in only a few months later!
After postponing and re-arranging everything, they finally got the day of their dreams. The restrictions were lifted which enabled all of their nearest and dearest to fly over and be with them as they entered this new stage of their lives together.
If I could sum up their wedding day in 3 words, they would be: colourful, exciting and wholesome.
The perfect venue
Wow, it’s a stunning place! There’s so many different quirks to it that really makes it unique. I mean, we’ve got to talk about the giant kayak suspended from the ceiling in the dining area! What a genius way to incorporate the lakefront and add some rustic to the mix.
The Northridge Inn’s ceremony spot for Lauren & Matthew was actually out on the lake itself, on a huge jetty which also housed the entire guest list, against a gorgeous backdrop of trees and the floral birch arch, it was so far from a traditional British wedding day.
A unique recessional
Forget a confetti or rice toss- this couple decided to treat every guest to a glass of fizz as they entered the ceremony, then on walking back down the aisle as a married couple they gave their guests a cheers! It’s such a special way to incorporate your friends and family in this special moment.
I’m so glad they trusted me with their vision, and to be able to serve them to preserve such special memories for all who were there.
