If you’re looking for ideas for a lifestyle newborn photography session that is infused with a Canadian hockey twist, check out this Edmonton Oilers inspired newborn photography session I did this week!
Welcome to the world Rocque. He was a 5 day old dream to photograph. By far the most chilled baby I’ve photographed in a long time.
His dad is a huge hockey fan, and I’m sure Rocque will be too. You could see the pride on dad’s face as he was holding his new baby in a little Oilers babygro!
Rocque’s mom bought along with her some personal items that were made for him. There was a gorgeous grey knitted blanket that Rocque’s grandma had made him. The little grey touque was such a good match. It was the first ever hat that he wore on his way home from the hospital.
This family already knew my style of shooting as they had already had some maternity photos taken with me. As a result it made them feel much more at ease and comfortable with the session when it came around.
My studio space here in Wainwright is very neutral and muted. There is natural light coming through, which makes it perfect for a variety of different colour schemes. I think the grey shades of everyone’s outfits really complemented each other.
So mom got her classic, family photos and dad got his Oiler’s inspired father/son shots. Win win!
